sadly one could say Islam is a rapidly becoming a prisoner of Culture!!...in most instances!!.....but when one clearly distinguishes between the two..then its blissful n ever so rewardingly competent 2 life itself!!
These days culture has started to bleed into religon, to the extent that somali's indulge in so much innovation in the religon its almost funny lol il list some
1. Kissing the quran
2. Putting the quran under a pillow
3. Asking for assistance from the people in the grave
4. Hanging pictures of the verses of the quran in living rooms
all of the above have no basis in the quran and sunnah and has a appeared from somewhere god knows where, btw number 4 i think 95% of the somali's are guilty of that one lol
There is nothing wrong with # 1 and 4. I do both. In fact, I carry around ayat kuris that I hang on the door of every place I am staying...even hotel rooms.
ISLAM SHOULD BE THE WAY OF LIFE AND ISLAM TEACHING SHOULD BE OUR CULTURE BUT I UNDERSTAND SIS THAT SOMETIMES IN LACK OF THE DEEN PPL DO WRONG AND INSHLAHI MAY ALLAH GUIDES ALL TO THE RIGHT PATH
Isn't culture the totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, and all other products of human work and thought? Islam is culture.
