alotta somali mothers have huge influences on thier doughters when it comes to marriege and findin a husband...........ladies would u stil marry da man of ur dreams but ur mother doesnt like him and she has told u so.......or would u listen to ur mother and drop da guy.........i knoe its ur mother........but why must da guy suffer for his love jst coz da grls mother doesnt like him.........eg, for his qabiil,family,society statues etc.

same goes for da men.........would u marry a grl even thou ur mum doesnt like her how much influence does ur mother have on u as a man when it comes to pickin a wife

my hoyo she told me when ur done with ur education u bring home a good somali brotha deen and is educated and good guy and knows how to cook food lol so i thank allah that my hoyo and dad gave me right to pick who i wont so its good think

My mother isn't old fashioned.

She may not like him because of REAL reasons like his character and personality etc, but never something as silly as qabiil or tribalism.

If she REALLY hated him, there must be a reason behind it and we would have a talk.

If she just had a bad feeling about him, I would get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what is giving her the creeps about him...

My mother is a VERY important role in my life, paradise lies beneath the mothers feet, so at the end of the day if the problem can't be solved... I choose her.

But really, I'm the one that has to be in the marriage so I shouldn't just accept to marry a guy because my mum likes him, or not because she has a bad feeling about him.

The final choice is mine, but my mother is very dear to me.


It depends on the scenario...
